Craig Melia, Central Coast Musician
Friday, July 18th, 2008Craig Melia is one of the best surfers on the Central Coast. He is also a great musician. Dale Masten at Session Design brought me in to explore some images for Craig’s new CD called Fantom. It was great fun. Dale and Craig go way back and the best part was listening to them joke with each other. The Central Coast is full of surprises.

Dale Masten the Art Director, getting into the zone.

Allison and Brian
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008I was the second shooter for Cecily Parish a few weeks at Allison and Brian’s wedding here in Cambria. It felt like everyone was family. That’s just how it is when you live in a place where the pines meet the sea. Go get’em newlyweds! Thanks for letting me be a part of it.
You might notice the last few images that were taken at Moonstone Beach. The smoke light was going off. Smoke light is the orange filter you get during brush fires. The Big Sur Basin Complex Fire started that day. It was interesting light. These are just a few of my picks. The Central Coast is full of surprises.

Winnemucca Junk
Saturday, July 12th, 2008So, I” onclick=”return TrackClick(”,’%3Ciframe+width%3D’)”ve been away for a while. Getting a little time with those close to me. There is this place we go to with no cell service, no internet, no tv and no worries. To get there we must pass through Winnemucca, Nevada. Now it” onclick=”return TrackClick(”,’%3Ciframe+width%3D’)”s not as bad as it seems. There is some good people living in Winnemucca. And there are some hidden gems like this junk yard that I found just out side of town.
I love junk. I love the proof of age and time. I” onclick=”return TrackClick(”,’%3Ciframe+width%3D’)”m just a sucker for a good composition. These images are just an exploration for that composition. I went for a cruise after dinner at Ormachea” onclick=”return TrackClick(”,’%3Ciframe+width%3D’)”s. The sky was electric and the sunset was the final straw. I will be blogging more images from this trip. Take care, ~ JD
Cheryl and Whitney
Saturday, July 5th, 2008The setting was perfect and the crowd was great. Cheryl and Whit gave me the blessing of capturing a few moments for them. The weather was great and even William from Alaska was there. The Central Coast is full of surprises.

This guy just bought a new truck and REALLY wanted a shot with it.
